The Parrot AR Drone is one of the most advanced pieces of electronic gadgetry that has come along in many years. At first glance, it looks like a square, flat flying saucer. It is, but it is also so much more. First it is the newest thing in RC fliers. It has four horizontal propellers, making it really a quadricopter. It is much more than just an RC Quadricopter.
There are many new technologies employed by the Parrot AR. Drone. It can be flown indoors with a protective shell that wraps around the whole unit, make from lightweight but durable materials. You can take off the shell to fly it outdoors in open spaces. Standard radio controllers don't control it, though. Instead, it has an on board Wi-Fi system. It can be controlled by an Ipod touch, an iPhone, and even an iPad. This means that you can fly it longer distances. The other unique features of the Parrot AR. Drone is that is has two different miniature cameras, one that faces forward, the other facing the ground. It also has the ability for other people who also have these products to play against each other, either interactively, or through a multiplayer game called AR. Flying Ace. You can have real dog fights against other players, the hulls are available in three different color configurations so you can identify your Drone from other players. You simply attach the protective shield for protection against impacts from other player's units. The outside hull is extremely aerodynamic for greater outside control.

You can also download a variety of different games for this product from the iTunes app store. It also feature an auto pilot, making it the easiest flying craft to land and launch. After taking off, the auto pilot stabilizes the unit at an altitude of eighty centimeters. If you take your finger off the iPod or iPhone, the autopilot puts that unit into hover mode. If by some change you lose your connection, again the autopilot takes over, stabilizing the unit and lands it safely.
The Parrot AR. Drone is made highly resistant PA66 plastics and Carbon fiber, making it extremely durable. If for some reason it does get damaged, every part can be change out for quick and easy repairs. Fly time is twelve minutes on a three cell lithium polymer battery, which can be fully charged in just 90 minutes. It includes four 15 watt brush less electric motors generating 3,500 RPM.
It is 28 inches x 28 inches with the hull and 28 inches x 11 inches without the protective shell. It weighs just 13.4 ounces overall. It comes with the Drone, the indoor and outdoor hulls, Battery and charger, four different adapters, stickers for the hull, and the quick start guide.
